Well its that time of the year friends, when we give up something for Lent. As a good Catholic girl, this has been a long time tradition. Maybe this could count as my confession, if I say to you dear reader, that for the past 28 years I have never made it all the way through Lent without caving into what I gave up. There, I said it, I sinned and was unable to keep away from all the things I gave up. All day I have been racking my head about all the ghosts from Lent past, things I failed to do.
Lets see there was...
- Giving up chocolate
- Giving up diet coke (that sent me to the doctor with caffinne withdrawls)
- Giving up men...actually that did work for awhile, but I didn't make it 40 days
- Working out every day
- Not cussing
- Not eating meat (pretty sure I had a burger one year)
But this year is going to be different. I am totally committed to 40 days and 40 nights of giving up candy and tortilla chips. This will be no easy task as I have a rather large container of fresh Easter chocolate on my desk at work, and Mexican food es mi favorito! I can do it though, especially with the help of you reader! If you see me out at a Mexican restaurant sporting a baseball hat, with dark glasses, desperately staring at the lonely salsa bowl, please stage a intervention. Also during these next 40 days, I want to do something good to for the world... I am still thinking about what that will be. Any suggestions dear reader?
With that being said I have 5 more hours to get my munch on... oh and to come up with a plan to make the world a better place... Maybe I should do this over a glass of wine...
